Fraoch Bán, with its superb views over Lough Allen,is an ideal location for the discerning visitor. Situated just 1km from Drumshanbo, an attractive and busy town at the top of the River Shannon, which boasts numerous leisure activities. There is access to the shore of Lough Allen and boats are available to explore lake, islands and bays. Water Sports enthusiasts can explore the lakes, canals and rivers by canoe or learn to windsurf under the guidance of a Qualified Instructor at Lough Allen Outdoor Pursuits Centre. Moorlands Equestrian Centre nearby provides riding lessons, and trekking for all riding abilities, from complete beginners to advanced lessons. Fraoch Bán is situated at the start of the 'Leitrim Way' walking route. The Kingfisher Cycling Trail and the Miners Way are also adjacent. There are also a number of shorter signposted walks to enjoy in this lovely region.
There is an excellent amenity area nearby - Acres Lake, which features an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis court and children's playground. Drumshanbo is famous for its wealth of traditional Irish musicians, and every
year the highly popular festivals, 'An Tostal' and The town is also among the major course fishing centres in the country, with eighteen lakes and the River Shannon, in addition to Lough Allen, which is regarded as Ireland's pemier pike water, and all this within seven miles of the town.
